Elissa: Seed #6 in Ramirez Division
Elissa has had a pretty sweet Madness run. Beating Cooper in Round 1 wasn't entirely unexpected, but few could have foreseen her taking out Gren "The Monster" Blockman. Her fight against Crunchem in the following round was also one of the best comebacks I've seen in a long time. In fact, it was so good that Andrea decided it was easier to go on a sexcation (it's where you stay home but don't go out and just have sex a lot; I didn't know this was a thing but I love it!) than to fight Elissa, which put her in the semi-finals where she kicked Spider's butt.
Rachael: Seed #7 in Max Division
ArchMage Rachael has impressed the sword fighting community. She started off strong by beating Corlanthis in Round 1. Then she took out who-the-heck-is-Alannah in Round 2 (big deal) and not-so-well known Misery in Round 3 (also not a really big deal). Round 4 is where it actually became impressive: Rachael took out #1 seed and general dueling awesome-sauce man Rand alTan. Then she went on to end Merewyne's "Cinderella streak" (I still don't get it; Mere wasn't fighting in glass slippers, right?).
That's how we ended up with Elissa vs. Rachael for the finals! And after all those details were reviewed, I still totally flipped a coin to decide that Rachael will be the winner of Madness 2016.
